Manufactured in the U.S. of steel and aluminum.  A new design wherein the platen is suspended by constant-force springs.  Counterbalanced to "float" so that a few ounces of force will move it in either direction.

Polypress

A German-built heavy duty steel multifunction press.  The basic press with optional attachments functions as a standing press, nipping press, lying press with plough, and job backer.

Press à Satiner

French-built heavy-duty percussion press with 1 1/2" center spindle.  Very well built, lighter weight than Vaggelli.  Percussion mechanism operates the same as the Vaggelli press (described below), although without handles, the wheel cannot attain quite the same hammering force.

Platen size is 12 1/2" x 18" (32cm x 46cm) with 17" daylight.

Stockpresse Modell HHS

German-built wooden press with metal guides.  Functions smoothly and is very useful when the force of a heavy-duty metal press is not needed.

Stockpressen Robust

Vaggelli Percussion Press

Solid steel construction assures even pressure across the entire platen.  Like the Vaggelli board shears, the Vaggelli press is built to last a lifetime and is recognized worldwide as the finest press available.  The tightening wheel is conveniently positioned and is designed to allow tightening and loosening via a percussion (hammering) motion which is a more efficient use of force than brute strength.  The wheel has several inches of free swing, allowing for maximum hammering force

Kutrimmer Board Cutters

Kutrimmers, manufactured in West Germany, are sturdy and accurate, but are still light enough for one person to move.  Capable of cutting even heavy binder's board cleanly, as well as fabric, paper and thin tissue.  Designed without a counterweight on the blade, the unit requires a minimum of space.  A well-engineered, economical alternative where resources and space are at a minimum.

Available in tabletop or floor models with cutting lengths ranging from 15" to 43".

Vaggelli Board Shears

Manufactured in Florence, Italy, are recognized by conservation labs around the world to be of the highest quality.  Although originally produced for cutting metal, they will cut both heavy board and the lightest tissue with equal precision.  The heavy iron base and iron plate table, size of the blade, and the counterweight on the blade all combine to make cutting easier.  Vaggelli board shears are both durable and precise, made to last several lifetimes.  Steel blade alloyed with tungsten.  With pedal-operated clamp-down mechanisms.
