Recollections: My Life in Bookbinding

A fascinating account of the well-known British bookbinder.  Mr. Middleton was born to the trade of bookbinding, commencing his formal training at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, in 1938.  Except for the war years, his entire professional life has been devoted to craft bookbinding and restoration.  He has also written several important books on bookbinding.  One of the founders of the present Designer Bookbinders organization, he has been called "the most skillful book restorer at work today."  He is also known for his elegant gold-tooled design bindings, some of which are shown in this book.  This special, limited edition book is available in very limited quantities, either in sheets, or quarter-bound with slipcase.  Printed by the Bird & Bull Press.
