University of Iowa, Oakdale
Research Facility in Iowa City is under the direction of Tim
Barrett. Iowa papers are exceptionally strong, well-formed and
long-lasting, reflecting state-of-the-art and ongoing research
on traditional papermaking procedures. Iowa's papermaking is
seasonal (Japanese style papers are made in the winter, book and
papercase paper are made in the spring and summer) and we stock up
on each type of paper as it is produced. This means that when
Iowa paper is sold out, there may be a lengthy wait before it is in
stock again. Your patience is appreciated. We try to
keep as many in stock as possible.
Iowa's
book papers listed below are made of cotton or flax (the flax has been
fermented for controlled amounts of time, cooked in lime and then washed

time produces a stronger, but thicker, paper. 4 deckle edges; natural color
